US Route 66, also known as Route 66, is the most famous highway in North America. Before the second world war it was the road that runs from Chicago to Santa Monica in LA, mainly used by families who tried to flee the sandstorms in the east. After World War II, the road was also used by the increasingly usage of cars. Hence, this road is seen as an important historical point for the car development in North America.
